Powdered Sugar Icing

This powdered sugar icing is perfect for cookies, pastries, or any baked sweets you wish to add a touch of sweetness.

Most of the time a dessert really doesn’t need much of anything else to give it a sweeter taste. However, they do need to have a touch of decoration just to give it a finished look.

I think this powdered sugar icing is perfect for that!

It makes almost a cup of icing, just enough for those pretty swirls. If you need a larger amount for icing a cake, try my Buttercream Icing. It tastes so good (*hint butter) and is perfect when you need a larger batch of icing.

If this icing is not used immediately, it will start to set up slightly (which is what you want it to do on your cookies or sweet rolls). You can simply add a few drops (and I mean a few drops) of water or milk to the mixture and it will come right back to the consistency you need. If it is too runny, simply add a tablespoon of powdered sugar at a time until you reach the right consistency.

*Note: the natural vanilla will give your icing a slightly off-color. If you need a pure white color, you can use clear vanilla in place of the natural vanilla. This will not affect the taste whatsoever.

Of course, you can add color to this as well. Simply skimp on the milk, add the food color, and then add more milk if needed for consistency.

I use this to drizzle on my Cinnamon Rolls. They are good as they are, but for those people who like a little more sweetness, this icing is perfect!❤
